Oregano - Origanum vulgare
Oregano is an essential ingredient in many Italian dishes. It can also pair well with lamb, chicken, beef and a variety of other dishes. It can be used either fresh or dried. Oregano is a companion plant for plants in tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins and basil. Oregano can be grown easily in a pot or in the ground and can overwinter with mulch and a protected site, but more often does not overwinter in our zone 3 area. Oregano enjoys hot temperatures and regular trimming.
